So yes, I decided I HAD to go as Quistis for Halloween. She is my current fav game girl! So mom and I set about getting stuff for it. We found the perfect material – it was soft, easy to work with, not too thin, and the PERFECT colour (at least in my mind, I like to think of her outfit as more peachy-orange than pink).
My grandma Mama Gin, mom and I worked for about three Saturdays getting it together. They made the jacket part from scratch (so it fitted exactly for me yay!) and lined it with the darker brown material we’d gotten. They made the dark brown sleeves separate, and then sewed them on later. The skirt was no problem, of course!
I added a pair of my own brown pants for under the skirt, and bought a pair of synthetic leather (I think that’s what it was called) black riding boots. Found a whip at the Party/Halloween story, and I was set!
Well, I didn’t have gloves. I was just going to wear my winter gloves with it, but the night came and I couldn’t find them. So Quistis was glove-less that night. I also didn’t colour my (dark brown) hair at all… the girl who does my hair nearly freaked when I asked what kind of colouring stuff I should use. “No no! Don’t do that!” She then proceeded to tell me horror stories about people who’d coloured their hair for one-night things, yikes! So I didn’t do it.
But we had SO much fun that night. Ashley couldn’t come (everyone was confused — was Halloween Saturday night or Sunday night? I can’t remember what the whole deal was but some parts of town were having it saturday, some were having it sunday, I don’t know), she had to work at her school carnival. So me, Cath, and S. went around her neighborhood š
No one recognized me, of course. I snapped my whip at everybody who bothered us. I felt so cool LOL When we got back to my house that night, I took the brown pants off… and they fell apart. I’d had them for a while (it was kind of a velour material), but man. Little pieces of brown velour were everywhere. We had to throw them away!
The pictures I originally took were not very good, so one day soon I’m gonna get the costume back out and take some more… but here is one!!
